Lunatic Plot

You are alone on patrol at the unexplored borders of the Interstellar Alliance's territory. It's a remote, forbidding region known as the Fringe. Suddenly you are attacked by a marauding band of aliens. They are a new and belligerent race, whose battle tactics defy belief. You are too far away for assistance to reach you. Can you repel the invasion single-handedly, or is it only a matter of time before the Interstellar Alliance falls at the hands of the Lunatics?

Ben Haller has written one other game for the Macintosh, called Solarian II. Unlike Lunatic Fringe, it will run only in 256 color mode, and it requires a 640x480 or larger monitor (which means that the 12" color monitor that many LC users have will not work). It has won critical acclaim in reviews by Macworld, MacUser, and EMUG. It's shareware, and may be obtained from many user groups, or from the author himself at:
